The group of schools Dr.ª Laura Ayres is situated in the city of Quarteira, in the Algarve, south of Portugal. We are about 270 km far from the capital city, Lisbon.

The group of schools Drª. Laura Ayres has about 2120 students distributed by six public teaching establishments. The secondary school Drª. Laura Ayres with about 638 students is the headquarter school. The other schools of the group are the EB 2,3 (499 students), the kindergarten n.3 (91 children), one primary school (139 students) and two primary schools/ kindergarten (one with 246 students and the other one with 252 children). In addition to these students, the headquarter school also provides adult education to about 200 people in evening courses, which also includes teaching Portuguese to foreigners.
There is a total of 234 teachers and 77 educational staff working in the school.
School activities at EB 2,3 and high school begin at 8:25 a.m. and finish at 6:15 p.m. and in the remaining schools/educational establishments, activities begin at 8:30 a.m. and finish at 3 p.m. Evening courses take place in the secondary school from 7:15 p.m. to 11:40 p.m.
